Summary
Ada writes about Grace, who has never owned a doll, and how she promised one for Christmas, putting a participation in a raffle. She describes a day when Grace received a panda toy and ice cream instead of going out, and an anecdote involving Penna and a bath. Ada approves of the idea of Hilda moving, considering it a good decision. She wonders what Paul will think as she prepares to hunt for dinnertime.

Grace
has never had a doll in her life and asked for one. I've promised her one for Xmas & have put 1/6 on a beauty in White Elephant raffle.
When off duty the other day instead of going home she got a book and the Panda + the ice cream cart & sat out in the garden so.
Penna gave me a bath the other day - after insisting that I put my foot rather far out. She said "Mummie, you aint falling out are you?"
Think your idea re Hildas moving are very good one. Nice to think of that trip as her present and to have the anxiety off your mind.
Wonder what Paul will think of May creek book. Must go and hunt for dinnert now.
All my love darling one Ada
