I shall send you a parcel this week and if I have anything over next Monday I will send it - but you must just be careful with the things. I wonder if I would be able to get anything at the farm & send you - I doubt it. I've just been looking at the book you sent me about "Wild Lord". I must experiment—

I've no letter of yours to answer - and did not get much of your news over the phone so shall look round & your letter on Tuesday -

I've spread out the suitcases in your study and am begin- & collect a few things together. Penna is collecting what she thinks she is going & talks with her and has made many trips upstairs. It will be fun & see what she has made - Gilliam, of course, wants to take a library!!! - or at least a bookcase full of books. She now shares all her new bits of knowledge with Penna who listens most attentively about Julius Caesar etc etc and makes appreciative (tho not altogether understanding) replies or remarks -

The tadpoles thrive - so do the snails who have now cleaned the glass beautifully - the tadpoles fight like puppies over a bit of meat.

Mrs Petrin will take care of the cats - and Dudley is to have a kitten as a reward. Mrs Petrin is teaching the Jones wood carving. Mrs Petrin came in and helped me one day last week and would have come more if I had not got suited with Mrs Dawds - but Kathleen is having her fits again -

Have just been up & see Gilliam? She is sleepy & her cough is bad but moist. Will add a line & this in the morning. I must listen & the Queen now -
