ROSEMARY COTTAGE
GRANVILLE TERRACE
BUDE HAVEN
CORNWALL

May 5 - 1943 -

My own darling One -
Must just send a last line before you come -
Here is a list of the things you have been - the pyjama trousers has a huge hole so even that is not wearable till I mend it - The shirts and pants - I should think are sufficient for the holiday.

To confirm our telephone talk - Penna badly wants to be fitted up with an electric light she could switch on from her bed. There is an electric point in the wainscot near her bed.
I shall give her the Bible you got for her "from you" - as I have one or two other little presents for her myself - then they each want a white mumse. There was a real Indian head belt 10/6 at the White Elephant shop. I thought it too expensive but Gillian wanted it badly - so I asked them to reserve it pending your arrival.

The other night she dreamed that a lot of Red Indians came to her and she taught them to dance and then they gave her a bead belt. I felt her desire for that belt perhaps justified the expense if it had gone so deep.
So I went to the White Elephant and found two ladies had already asked for it if I did not want it. So I got it. I've not given it to her yet.

Thank you for your letter.
Glad Sherman returned the mower -
I can't get a p.p.c of the Reservoir anywhere round Budehaven. Of course I ought & have tried at Holsworthy the day we were there but it rained & rained that day so we sat in the car most of the time only making little dashes out to see something or other.
Your ration book has come.

Later - Must close this tonight & catch first post tomorrow - It is a hasty letter - but since you will be with me so soon after it reaches you all news and love shall be given you more closely and intimately.
Oh it is good to know you'll soon be here -

All my love my own precious one - Aida -

I'm just been fixing your room -
